CL Dad and former Clinton Administration appointee to the State Department Philip Yun and his wife Melissa are teaming up with Namu Restaurant chef/co-owner Dennis Lee and partner Jaimee, to give you and your guests what promises to be an evening of great food and stories. Dennis will provide a catered dinner for 8 (valued at $320) while Philip is on hand to give a presentation combining policy and personal stories - on North Korea. Namu is an acclaimed Inner Richmond restaurant that is family-owned and Asian inspired. It was recently written up in the SF local section of the NY Times and is listed in the 2009 Michelin Guide to SF, Bay Area & Wine Country. Dennis gives you his delicious and contemporary take on traditional Korean dishes. As a member of the senior U.S. government policy team overseeing talks with the DPRK from 1998 to 2001, Philip has been to North Korea a number of times, including trips with former Secretary of Defense William Perry and later Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and has met North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. Philip gives his perspective on what he learned and relates his personal journey as a Korean-American, with one parent born in South Korea and the other in what is now the North. Enjoy some of the best food the Bay Area can provide and hear what you need to know about the DPRK’s nuclear program and the North Korean people.
