Scenario A: assuming ballot measure passes, results in $58,000 shortfall; affects ½ time positions for reading specialist and KIP middle school
Scenario B: if ballot measure does not pass, $88,000 shortfall
C. Discussion
-PTA is stretched; asking PTA to meet shortfall affects other programs, esp. Outdoor Ed. Outdoor Ed committee is looking at options.
If site could not fund early literacy specialist position, K-2 teachers could use substitute teachers to teach the class while conducting assessments of each child to get a baseline assessment of reading level for each child; or redefine the position as resource specialist to help with math and reading
III. Community Meeting
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 6-7:30pm at Main Library
Will ask PTA to donate money to pay 2 CLLA teachers for childcare in the Children’s Library on 2nd floor

Discuss format for community meeting; focus on outreach to under represented families
