Meeting called to order at 5:00pm
Minutes from November shown on board. John Olden motioned to pass minutes, Selena Hughes seconded, approved unanimously.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
• Need to elect Nominating Committee to take charge of getting new nominees for Board elections for 2010-11
-Solicit nominees and put together a slate with one or more people for each office – will determine how they will go about it
-President, EVP, 2nd VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary (possibly)
-Brad Kaplan, as Parliamentarian, was nominated and accepted to be on the Committee, Stefan Adler, Selena Hughes, Tom Fox, Elizabeth Baker-Chang were nominated and accepted
-Elected unanimously.
-Brad will set up first meeting
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT – William Hack
• Does not anticipate receiving any new info on budget cuts tonight at Marina Middle School. Purpose is to have parent/teacher voices heard
-$113 million in cuts – transportation, pupil services, counselors, teachers primarily K-3, increasing class sizes
• Teachers with least seniority will be laid off first
AUCTION REPORT
• On MJ’s behalf, Jim requested that families go out and buy a restaurant gift certificate to donate or even buy a gift certificate to donate.
• Online auction will be live March 1.
MISCELLANEOUS
• Funding for Korean After-school program being reconciled with parent contributions. Morgan Docks has volunteered to help do bookkeeping to help David Bass with tracking funds. Point made that KAS not being funded by CLPTA.
Brad Kaplan moved to adjourn, Selena Hughes seconded. Meeting adjourned at 5:30pm
